The sapwood of walnut is creamy white and the heartwood ranges from light brown to dark chocolate, with occasional purple and darker streaks. Boards can be supplied steamed with darkened sapwood or unsteamed. Commonly used in furniture, cabinetry, architectural interiors, fine joinery, doors, flooring and panelling, it is ideal for use with light-coloured woods.
